The Liverpool Tapestry:
People, Places and Passions
This piece shows the weather vane at the sailor’s church, St.
Nicholas, which appropriately is a ship in full sail.
“
This is the Church that I have attended for 56 years although the
building illustrated was only opened in 1968. It is part of a group
of buildings belonging to the Church. Money was given towards
it’s building by Mr Robert Martin Smith, whose family had a carpet
shop in Williamson Square in Liverpool.”
