I first heard about this project from my friend and ex-colleague
Gill Roberts, who suggested that as I had been doing some
dressmaking that I might find it interesting. It was also an
opportunity to get out and meet people after my divorce.
I had no idea what I was going to do until just before the first
meeting, and then I caught a piece of news that La Machine had
come to Liverpool. As this was almost at the same date as our first
meeting I thought that it was quite appropriate to use this as my
first piece of work.”
